Rather than teachers lecturing (sometimes poorly) and kids doing homework at home (sometimes poorly), kids watch world-class lectures at home and do exercises in class with their teachers, who are best for such personalized interaction. Agree or disagree?

You are talking about flipping, right? I'm reading a little about this and I seriously considering starting down this road in the fall. I have a couple of reasons for this and there are a great many challenges.
First, I teach a quasi-industrial class in middle school. There aren't ready made lectures that I can point my students too, I will need to create this media myself and looking forward to the task. I hope that this will free up shop time to get work done and then perhaps I can add a unit.
I expect that there will be a great deal of resistance from the students, parents and maybe even my administration. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised...
